Welcome to the Potential Finders Blog
How the Blog Works
First, let me just say – I am so glad you are here. I pray time spent here will be a blessing to you!
Over the last year, Potential Finders Network has undergone several changes (and we’re not done yet). Being passionate about writing and helping others but new at this medium of work (websites, blogs, and the like), has required a constant refining.
At least everyone knows I’m willing to learn!
One of the most difficult aspects of writing this blog has been organization – and the reason for that has been the inability to define an audience. Given the pervasiveness of the issues I generally address, anxiety, trauma, thinking, and so on, it has been difficult to narrow things down. EVERYONE can benefit from these topics, however, not everyone will get me or my writing or what I am trying to do… Lots of well-meaning advice givers have urged me to find a singular audience and focus. I have heard what they say and come to the conclusion that I cannot do this. My life experience and the knowledge of others in my network along with the mission and hopes of Potential Finders Network make it impossible to do this. If there is helpful information to share, I want to get it out there.
Nevertheless, without focus, chaos ensues. Therefore, to accommodate this unique format, the blog will be divided into four parts, explained below.
Mindfulness in Action – Blogs with this heading will be all about the science and practice of Mindfulness and anything related to it. If you find yourself scurrying too fast through life, heavily stressed, constantly future-trippin’ or past-regrettin’, or struggle at all with too much or too little emotions, these are the articles for you!
Survivor-to-Thriver – For those who have a history of trauma, battle shame, deal with self-destructive and/or unhelpful behaviors, or grapple with relationship issues, check out these writings.
Thinking Out Loud – This is just me – Hannah. Just my thoughts – whatever is on my mind. The point of these is to help you understand me and the insights I have and will gain in life. Anyone can do research and put words on pages – but I want you to know me and see that I get it. After all, how much I know will never be as important as how much I care – and these writings will show my heart as well as my creds.
Watch Out World! – We’ve been duped, y’all… Family, friends, organizations, and society at large have convinced many of us to force ourselves into a life that does not fit. Pieces under this title will challenge you to re-think the way you have been doing things and then will equip you to make changes.
There you have it, the four major themes that make up Potential Finders Network Blog. There may be no particular order or schedule to which each topic is addressed, but most of what I write (except, perhaps Thinking Out Loud) will include some level of modern neuroscience or current, evidence-based therapeutic or instructional focus. The goal is for you to learn, be challenged, inspired, or related to and validated in some way. I encourage you read all my articles, at least at first.
Also be aware that anyone who signs up for my newsletter will receive first glance at select articles, tips, and other resources once a month.
